The Banyan Collective is dedicated to scaling the NEAR ecosystem in the US, by filling the gaps that users, founders, developers, and investors have felt while operating within the ecosystem. Banyan plans to accomplish this by garnering a vibrant and active NEAR community presence in every major US city.

About the role

The Head of Community is responsible for managing local city “node” community managers, sourcing candidates & establishing new city hubs, standing up community facing programming, and facilitating NEAR HACKS. We are seeking an experienced & energetic go-getter who is passionate about building the decentralized web.

Responsibilities

  • Broker and manage strategic community partnerships
  • Manage city-specific Community Managers across the United States
  • Recruit new city-specific Community Managers
  • Collaborate with marketing team on scaling NEAR US’ brand/offerings in all City Nodes
  • Develop, test, and implement a standardized and scalable onboarding and monitoring process for users engaging with the NEAR ecosystem via IRL and online events
  • Implement productivity tools across the City Nodes
  • Set up and lead weekly City Node syncs with Community Managers
  • Set up and lead weekly Community Ambassador syncs
  • Set up and lead weekly Developer Advocate syncs
  • Identify and onboard new City Node Community Managers and Developer Advocates in Boston, DC, and Chicago
  • Own execution for Banyan Collective’s community growth
    • NEAR US Developer Advocate and Ambassador programs
    • NEAR US Tour hackathon sponsorship packages
    • Regional Hub & City Node hackathons and meetups
    • NEAR US presence at major web3 conferences and hackathons

Qualifications/Experience

  • Passion for technology and community
  • Strong attention to details + deadlines
  • Passion to learn and advance career
  • Must have own laptop and phone
  • Not afraid to ask questions!

Recommended Experience

  • Familiary with Clickup, Luma, and other project management and events tools
  • Trained in Agile Scrum methodology
  • Experience with grassroots organizing and direct experience operating local chapter of a larger org
