We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior SEC Reporting Manager to lead the company’s external reporting function and provide technical accounting guidance. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX controls. The role requires deep expertise in the unique accounting and regulatory challenges of the fintech and cryptocurrency sectors, such as digital asset valuation and revenue recognition. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, excellent writing abilities, and a deep understanding of public company reporting and technical accounting matters.
Key Responsibilities:
SEC Reporting:
- Prepare and file all SEC reports (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, S-1, S-3, Proxy Statements, etc.) in compliance with SEC and U.S. GAAP requirements.
- Manage quarterly and annual reporting cycles, including coordination with finance, legal, investor relations, and external auditors.
- Own the XBRL tagging process for SEC filings.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all external financial reporting documents.
- Research, evaluate, and document complex accounting issues including revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), stock-based compensation, business combinations, goodwill impairment, and other key areas.
- Monitor and implement new accounting pronouncements.
- Draft accounting position memos and provide guidance to cross-functional teams.
- Act as a technical accounting subject matter expert for finance and business stakeholders.
- Support the company’s SOX compliance program, especially related to financial reporting controls.
- Liaise with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Lead implementation of control enhancements in areas of reporting and accounting.
- Stay informed on new and proposed SEC regulations, FASB pronouncements, and industry trends, assessing their impact and implementing necessary changes to reporting processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA license required.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Mix of Big 4 public accounting and public company corporate accounting preferred.
- Strong experience with SEC reporting and technical accounting research and application.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX.
- Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP), Workiva and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to non-accounting stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Experience in a publicly traded technology, fintech, SaaS, or digital asset company.
- Familiarity with equity and debt transactions, IPO experience a plus.

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending upon your leveling and location, the compensation for this role averages between $200,000 - $220,000 USD base salary. Equity, an annual performance bonus and the benefits outlined below are also a part of this role's package.
