We are looking to hire a Software Engineer to join our Institutional team in our London office. Blockchain.com is a high-performance culture marked by fearlessness and hyper productivity. WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services in Java/Kotlin that power client-facing applications for trading, custody, and wealth management.
  • Build robust APIs and microservices to support advanced dashboards, analytics tools, and mobile experiences.
  • Collaborate closely with front-end engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver seamless, intuitive experiences for sophisticated investors.
  • Architect solutions for portfolio management, trade execution, settlement, reporting, and analytics tailored to institutional and private clients.
  • Optimize backend systems for low latency, high throughput, and fault tolerance.
  • Integrate security best practices and advanced encryption to safeguard sensitive financial data.
  • Continuously improve backend performance, reliability, and development workflows.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin in backend and distributed systems development.
  • Proven expertise building scalable APIs, microservices, and backend platforms for complex financial or data-intensive applications.
  • Familiarity with cloud deployments, and service-oriented architectures.
  • Knowledge of messaging and streaming technologies (NATS, Kafka, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, databases, and distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of ledger systems is a strong plus.
  • Passion for solving challenging technical and financial problems with clean, maintainable code.
  • Commitment to quality-driven engineering, with a strong focus on testing (unit, integration, performance, and failure recovery).
  • Experience in fintech, trading, or wealth management platforms is a strong advantage.
