Impossible Finance is a fast-growing, VC-backed, DeFi-native ecosystem of multi-chain products. Our team has a strong track record in DeFi, ranging from former leads at Binance and other leading fintech/consumer tech companies that built out various blockchain products including wallets, staking platforms, swap protocols, launchpads and fiat gateways.

What we're looking for

We are looking for a capable and experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager who will partner with our Heads of Operations, Corporate & Legal teams to provide/support a wide range of HR functions including Recruitment, Ops, Pay & Benefits & Talent, and Culture Strategy. You will implement and own HR strategies aimed at supporting our business growth and empowering our young, vibrant team of tech-savvy entrepreneurs (e.g., organisation design, team success and retention, and incentives strategies).

Candidates should fit our team culture and driven to build upon it. We are a team with a strong culture of self-reflection and capacity building. We are a startup and every team member is expected to have proven roll-up-your-sleeves mentality to get the job done.

We are a primarily remote company with bases of operation in Asian and European timezones, so good communication skills are necessary. English is the primary language of communication.

Responsibilities

We are looking for candidates who are experienced in the first 2 responsibility areas below and are keen to develop experiences in the other areas:

HR & Recruitment Ops

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and provide advice on HR policies & procedures
  • Own and maintain the applicant tracking process and software tools
  • Work with the Legal Team to maintain company-wide compliance with applicable labor laws and company policies
  • Partner with mid-level managers and senior leaders to develop and implement HR policies to support the strategic growth of the business
  • Own and update our staff handbook to reflect current processes & policies
  • Manage and execute relocation request across global locations; coordinate on visa applications and visa transfer cases
  • Develop the HR system and procedures and streamline related workflows to enhance the efficiency of the HR operation to support the rapidly grow business
  • Planning, coordinating and organising events / trips for the team

Pay, Benefits & Performance

  • Work with the Finance Team to ensure smooth running of our payroll, benefits (including insurance) and reimbursement programs
  • Work with the Finance and Legal Teams to ensure compliance with tax and other regulatory requirements
  • Lead and coordinate on core HR processes (eg, performance calibrations, compensation cycle, promotions, disciplinary actions, and terminations)
  • Assist Team Leads to provide reporting on compensation, job levels, and attrition to guide HR decision-making
  • Support management of compensation plans for new hires, existing team members, and organisational design
  • Work on Learning & Development programs in areas of training, development, career mobility and job performance

  • Motivate and inspire a cooperative company culture of inclusivity, openness, and transparency, considering our core values
  • Work with our Continuous Improvement team to improve organisational effectiveness and team motivation
  • Assist in planning company retreats and team building activities (f2f and online)
  • Ensure that we have resources and regenerative processes in place for constructive feedback and conflict management
  • Provide HR expertise in the areas of feedback, performance management, employee relations, development and coaching, and organisational development
  • Help accelerate a culture in which people feel engaged and inspired to provide top business results

Recruitment

  • Coordinate with internal and external recruiters as needed
  • Support the talent acquisition process, assist in writing and reviewing job descriptions, proactively sourcing high-quality candidates, reviewing applicants, scheduling, and conducting reference checks
  • Help build a compelling team brand and value prop to win world-class talent
  • Work with the leadership team to build a robust hiring pipeline
  • Understand hiring managers pain points, motivations, business contexts and the roles required to scale their teams
  • Experience with domestic and international contractors
  • Ensure our business strategy is reflected in our people strategy

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience (HR generalist / Ops / Benefits / People & Talent / HRBP), preferably with some exposure to fast-growing startups
  • Passion for people, culture, process improvement; help team members get the most out of their work experience
  • Understanding of employment law, compensation, benefits, organisational development, and training
  • Ability to create thoughtful, strategic proposals for the leadership team for improving people processes
  • Ability to grow the people function in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to translate strategic business goals into actionable HR insights
  • Ability to work in ambiguity and anticipate challenges and solutions before they arise
  • Performance management and employee relations / engagement experience
  • Problem solving, organisational, and communication skills
  • Collaborative mind-set, high social and emotional intelligence
  • Coaching and facilitation skills
  • Self-starter and can work well in a decentralised team
  • Interest in cryptocurrency and blockchain

Market competitive salaries apply, ranges depend on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experiences. We are open to consider candidates who are early HR Manager or HRBP in Recruitment, Ops, Pay & Benefits & Talent, and Culture Strategy.
