About the Opportunity
This role focuses on strengthening OKX Bahamas' first line of defense by collaborating with internal departments and centralized teams to drive risk management, process improvements, and ensure control performance is robust. The position is key in ensuring the company meets regulatory requirements and to enhance the organizational maturity needed to sustain the business's growth and integrity while embedding nonfinancial risk management within operational processes.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Act as a central point of contact for all first-line defense risk management and control activities, coordinating between internal departments and centralized teams to ensure effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure clear ownership and accountability for first-line risk controls, aligning them with OKX group's risk management framework to enhance transparency and ensure proper execution.
- Identify, develop, and implement process improvements to drive operational efficiencies while addressing risks, aligning with industry best practices for first-line risk management.
- Provide hands-on support to local departments in documenting, executing, and refining internal controls, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with centralized group teams to ensure that risk exposure is minimized, and processes performed by them align with local control requirements and regulatory frameworks.
- Lead the design and execution of risk identification and response strategies for emerging nonfinancial risk areas such as cybersecurity, operational resilience, and regulatory changes.
- Drive the rationalization of control frameworks, optimizing the use of resources, reducing duplication of controls, and streamlining processes for better efficiency.
- Support the execution of Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), ensuring all key controls are assessed and appropriate remediation actions are developed and implemented.
- Lead control optimization initiatives by continuously evaluating control activities for potential enhancement opportunities to align with the evolving business landscape and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate regular risk and control performance reporting to senior management and the board, ensuring transparency on control effectiveness and emerging risks.
- Enhance cross-functional coordination by collaborating with second and third lines of defense (Risk Management and Internal Audit) to ensure alignment on control requirements, while maintaining a focus on first-line responsibilities.
- Automation and data analytics to improve risk identification, monitoring, and reporting, leveraging automation where appropriate.
