About the Opportunity

As the EEA Head of Compliance Operations at OKX, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of our day-to-day compliance operations in the EEA market (which covers over 28 jurisdictions). Reporting to the Global Head of Compliance Operations, you will build and lead a team of Compliance Operations professionals, while scaling the EEA compliance operations capacity for OKX.

What You’ ll Be Doing

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership of a team of over 70 people based in Hungary and Malta.
  • Management and oversight of all aspects of daily compliance operations related to OKX's KYC, AML and sanctions compliance programs for the EEA region.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the EEA compliance operations team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance operational processes and systems, ensuring alignment with policies and procedures, regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (e.g. Product and Engineering), to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assess market opportunities and resource requirements to scale the compliance operational capacity in the EEA area.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to senior management on operational metrics.

What We Look For In You

  • Proven track record of leadership and management (e.g. 10 years plus), with experience leading large operational teams in the EEA area and / or in the global environment.
  • Extensive experience in compliance operations, gained from working in financial institutions (e.g. banks), or fintech industry.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements in EEA and compliance best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.

Nice to Haves

  • Familiarity with compliance vendors, tooling, systems in the crypto industry, e.g., Chainalysis.
  • Experience with establishing operational hubs.
  • Experience of working in crypto industry.
