About the Team
The primary objective of the Compliance team is to ensure that OKX operates in accordance with regulatory requirements while upholding the highest ethical and moral standards. The team accomplishes this by developing compliance service solutions, integrating with KYC and AML vendors, and supporting robust business growth — ultimately strengthening user trust in our platform. Our goal is to foster a culture of compliance excellence, where innovation and responsible business practices are seamlessly integrated.
Responsibilities
- Own and develop technical schemes for platform projects, ensuring scalability, reliability, and flexibility
- Lead engineering efforts for the AML team on resourcing, project researching and development, troubleshooting problems, and ensure quality and timely completion
- Facilitate cross-team communication and promote teamwork efficiency through code quality control and collaboration
- Undertake team tasks and cultivate technical talents in the industry
- Lead and mentor backend engineering teams to promote best practices and high-quality code delivery
- Oversee communication and coordination with cross-functional stakeholders
- Establish engineering excellence standards for code quality, observability, automation, security, and performance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of backend engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in an engineering leadership role in Compliance Technology teams
- Proficiency in Java, JVM configuration, Spring Boot, and modern backend architectures
- Experience writing AML systems and working with internal Compliance stakeholders
- Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing in both English and Mandarin to collaborate effectively with global and cross-functional team members.
Preferred Skills
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, KYC/AML requirements, and compliance frameworks
- Deep understanding of the design principles of common caching systems and distributed systems
- Familiar with common middleware, such as MQ, RPC, cache, message queue etc.
- Clear logical thinking with strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
