DW3S builds on the expertise of web3.storage and Filecoin Saturn to provide hot, fast object storage for web3 builders and networks using Filecoin for verifiable storage. We are a ~15 person startup actively incubated inside Protocol Labs Venture Studio (PLVS), dedicated to revolutionizing decentralized web3 data storage and aggregation. Together, we're on a mission to harness the power of blockchain technology to create a more secure, efficient, and decentralized internet infrastructure. Our focus lies in leveraging technologies like IPFS and Filecoin to provide lightning-fast storage solutions while maintaining the principles of decentralization and data privacy.

Summary

We are seeking a co-founder and technical leader who is deeply passionate about decentralized systems, blockchain technology, and building groundbreaking products from the ground up. As a technical founder, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our company, leading our engineering team, and positioning W3S as a breakthrough in the realm of decentralized data storage and aggregation.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Drive the development of our decentralized storage and aggregation platform, working closely with the technical team to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions.
• Product Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, develop a roadmap, and prioritize features that align with our business goals and market needs.
• Blockchain Architecture: Utilize your deep understanding of blockchain technology, particularly IPFS and Filecoin, to architect and implement efficient storage solutions using layer 2 blockchain scaling technology.
• Company Building: Lead and grow our technical team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Drive fundraising efforts, present on behalf of the business, and cultivate relationships with investors and stakeholders.
• Distributed Systems Design: Design and implement robust distributed systems architecture that can handle large-scale data storage and aggregation, ensuring resilience, security, and performance.
• Customer Adoption & Growth: Work closely with the business development and marketing teams to drive customer adoption, gather feedback, and iterate on our product to ensure market fit and accelerate company growth.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in distributed storage technology, blockchain, and decentralized systems.
• Proven track record of building businesses and leading technical teams from the ground up.
• Deep technical expertise in IPFS, Filecoin, IPLD and other related technologies.
• Strong understanding of layer 2 blockchain scaling technology and efficient aggregation and caching strategies.
• Experience designing blockchain protocols and distributed systems architecture.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for driving innovation and solving complex technical challenges.
• Experience planning, coordinating, and executing effective go-to-market strategies to drive the successful launch and growth of DW3S.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a startup environment or early-stage company.
• Familiarity with fundraising, investor relations, business development, and ecosystem collaboration.
• Demonstrated success in driving customer adoption and scaling technology products.
